Women's Weekend

Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?” And they said, “Some say John the Baptist, others say Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” He said to them, “But who do you say that I am.” Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” And Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you..” Matthew 16:13-17a

At this point in the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus has given his epic sermon on the mount, shown his glory through many miracles, and engaged in some very direct and hard conversations with just about everyone. Laced through these stories, is a quiet invitation to all: come and see. In this passage, a pivotal moment unfolds. With rumors circulating and a city known for pagan worship ahead, Jesus asks his disciples two crucial questions: What have you heard about me and what do you believe? He is calling them to make a decision, to testify to what they believe, to draw a line in the sand. “But who do you say that I am?”

We believe this is one of the most important questions with a heart changing, life altering, eternity shaping answer, and therefore a worthy theme for our annual weekend together. Beloved City Church ladies, we want to joyfully invite you to the 2023 Women’s Weekend where we hope to come and see the Lord in His Word and worship Him together. For, truly, He is the Christ, the Son of the living God.
