City Church Discipleship Group Guide

Read- Galatians 1:1-5

Know the Word

  1. What is the source of Paul’s authority? Why does Paul start his letter this way?

  2. Jesus gave Himself for our sins (v4). That is the nature of the gospel. Even at the point of death, Matthew tells us that Jesus “yielded up his spirit.” What does this tell you about Jesus and what does it mean for how His followers should live?

Know Ourselves

  1. Paul proclaims grace to his readers and glory to God. Where do you need God’s grace?

  2. Freedom and submission seem contradictory, yet freedom is found by submitting to the faithful Savior. Explain in your own words how this works. Where do you find it most challenging to submit, and how would God be more glorified by your submission?

Know How to Respond

As a Group - Consider verse 4, being saved from sin is how one is delivered from the evil world. Share stories amongst your group of how God has delivered you. Afterward, pray for one another, giving thanks for God’s deliverance.
