This Week in Kid City | August 17

Hi Kid City!

This week we talked about how God is our Shepherd! Do you know what animal a Shepherd looks after? SHEEP! A Shepherd takes care of his sheep, he provides for his sheep and LOVES his sheep. That is what God does for us! God is like the Shepherd and we are like his sheep. God takes care of us, God provides for us, and God LOVES us!

Below is a list of activities that you can engage your little one throughout the week. It will also be posted to Instagram (@fwcitychurchkids) and Facebook (City Church Kids). 

Main Truth: God is our Shepherd

Bible Verse: “Love the Lord your God with all of your heart, with all your soul, and with all your might” – Deuteronomy 6:5

Activity – God is like the shepherd and we are like his sheep! Grab one paper plate, glue and cotton balls. Cut out the center of the paper plate, glue the cotton balls on the remaining outside part of the paper plate. After the glue is dried, have your child lift the plate around their face so that they now look like a sheep! Remind them that God is our shepherd and we are his sheep!

Love – put your hand over your heart

The Lord your God – point up to the sky

With all of your heart – put your hands over your heart

With all of your soul – wrap your arms around you like a hug

And with all of your might – strong arms
