Know God

  1. Everything God says is good and profitable and life giving (Deut.8:3 & 2Tim.3:16). What does this tell us about God, His character, and the Bible?

  2. In verses 1-9, Paul is opposing counterfeit faith. What are the characteristics of counterfeit faith versus genuine faith? 

Know Ourselves

  1. In what ways are you tempted toward the counterfeit faith of verses 1-9? What has God said in His word to help you hold on to genuine faith?

  2. When you find yourself living out a counterfeit faith, what helps you get back on track? How can your group help you also? 

Know How to Respond

As a Group - Verse 17 says the scripture equips us for every good work. What good work are you wanting Him to prepare you for and then give to you? Share that with the group and then pray that God would equip the group for those good works and then provide opportunities for the work.
