This Week in Kid City | April 27
Hi Kid City!
Today we learned that God sends his helper to live inside of his people! He fills his people with a forever happiness in their hearts. This week let’s continue to learn about God’s love and how he is always with us.
Below is a list of activities that you can engage your little one throughout the week. It will also be posted to Instagram (@fwcitychurchkids) and Facebook (City Church Kids).
Read With Us– “God sends help” in the Jesus Storybook Bible, page 326
Main Truth: God is ALWAYS with us!
Bible Verse: “Remember I am with you ALWAYS” –Matthew 28:20
Prayer Activity– This week we learned about how God sends his Spirit to live inside of his people’s hearts! Together let’s pray that God would come and live in our hearts that He would grow our relationship with him! While we pray, you can make a stained glass heart on your window that will remind you to pray throughout the week!
Supplies needed to make a stained glass heart:
Clear contact paper (or press and seal)
Colored tissue paper cut into squares
Painters tape
Directions to make a stained glass heart:
Cut contact paper into the shape of a heart (or you can create an outline with tape, construction paper, or a marker)
Tape contact paper heart to a window that your little one can reach with the sticky side out
Let your children decorate the heart with tissue paper give them an assortment of color options to pick their favorite colors or colors that make them happy!
**As you make this heart together, talk with your children about how God comes to live inside of our hearts and pray together that he would one day come to live inside each of their hearts. Leave the heart up on your window all week and let it be a reminder to pray to God and continue to talk about how much God loves us, and how he is ALWAYS with us!
Activity– Nature walk
Take a walk outside and pay attention to the wind. Talk to your children about the wind – even though we may not be able to see it, the wind is always there and moving – just like God is always there and moving in our lives!
During your nature walk, you can make a bracelet with your findings! Simply wrap a piece of masking tape or painter’s tape around your little one’s wrist, sticky side up. Whatever flowers, sticks, or grass your kiddo picks up, they can decorate their nature bracelet!
Sing & Dance– Fruit of the Spirit by The Lockwoods or by Steve Green
Listen to this song and dance and sing along. You can get ribbons, crate paper, or scarves to wave around while singing and dancing!
Love Your Neighbor– Write a letter to a loved one you haven’t seen in a while! Remind them how much you love them and share the good news that we are learning -- God is always with us!
MemoryVerse– “Remember I am with you ALWAYS” –Matthew 28:20
Remember – point to your head
I am with you – give yourself a hug
ALWAYS – reach your arms forward in a circular motion
