This Week in Kid City | May 4

Hi Kid City!

Today we learned that God is a promise keeper! He is trustworthy and can never break his promises. We read about how he made a promise to Abraham. God promised him a baby and that his family would grow so big – there would be more family members than the stars in the sky! God promised to protect and take care of Abraham’s family and God did exactly that because he always keeps his promises!

Below is a list of activities that you can engage your little one throughout the week. It will also be posted to Instagram (@fwcitychurchkids) and Facebook (City Church Kids).

Read With Us– “Son of Laughter” in the Jesus Storybook Bible, page 56

Main Truth: God is a Promise Keeper!

Bible Verse: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son that whoever believes in him, will not perish, but have eternal life” –John 3:16

Prayer Activity– This week let’s pray to God, our Promise Keeper. Cut out a star from construction paper. Let your little one decorate it if they would like to. Together talk about 5 people you could be praying for this week! Write a name on each point of the star. Before meals or before bed, grab the star to look at with your little one and let it be a reminder of the people you are praying for this week!

Activity– Build a fort or go camping (in your backyard!)
Build a fort in your house or you can even “go camping” in your backyard! When your kiddos are playing in the fort or outside in the tent, remind them about Abraham. Ask them to imagine looking up to the sky and trying to count all of the stars. Together remember that God made a promise to Abraham. Remind your little one that God kept his promise to Abraham and he keeps his promises to us too!

Sing & Dance– Doxology / Oh, Shout For Joy by Keith & Kristyn Getty
Praise God with your little one and sing together the Doxology. This is a great song to clap your hands, stomp your feet and twirl around the house with your little one!

Love Your Neighbor– Bake a sweet treat together and deliver it to a neighbor!

Memory Verse– “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3:16

For God – point up
So loved – hug yourself
The world – make a circle with your harms above your head
He gave his one and only son – hold up a one with your finger
That whoever believes in him – point to your head
Will not perish – wag finger back and forth
But have eternal life – reach arms forward in a circular motion
