This Week in Kid City | June 1

Hi Kid City!

We are continuing to learn that God is a promise keeper! This week, we read about David and how he defeated a giant named Goliath! David knew God was with him and that there was nothing to fear!

Below is a list of activities that you can engage your little one throughout the week. It will also be posted to Instagram (@fwcitychurchkids) and Facebook (City Church Kids).

Read With Us– “The Young Hero and the Horrible Giant” on page 122 of the Jesus Storybook Bible

Main Truth: God is a Promise Keeper!

Bible Verse: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son that whoever believes in him, will not perish, but have eternal life” –John 3:16

Prayer Activity– This week let’s pray to God, our Promise Keeper.

Let’s make a paper prayer chain! Cut 5+ strips of paper. Sit down as a family and write down names of people you would like to be praying for this week on each piece of paper. With your child, glue the strips of paper to form a paper chain. Each day open one (or more, depending on how many you make) and pray for that person together!

Activity– Rock painting

In the story of David and Goliath, David found 5 rocks that he carried with him on his way to battle Goliath. Read the story with your child and go outside to find 5 rocks. Then you can paint them to make them your own! Remind them that God is always with us and that he never breaks his promises!

Memory Verse– “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3:16

For God – point up

So loved – hug yourself

The world – make a circle with your harms above your head

He gave his one and only son – hold up a one with your finger

That whoever believes in him – point to your head

Will not perish – wag finger back and forth

But have eternal life – reach arms forward in a circular motion
