This Week in Kid City | May 25

Hi Kid City!

We are continuing to learn that God is a promise keeper! This week, we read about David and how he was chosen as king over God’s people. God promised David that one of his descendents would be the forever king who comes and rescues God’s people for good! We continue to see how God ALWAYS keeps his promises!

Below is a list of activities that you can engage your little one throughout the week. It will also be posted to Instagram (@fwcitychurchkids) and Facebook (City Church Kids).

Read With Us– “The teeny, weenie true king” on page 116 of the Jesus Storybook Bible

Main Truth: God is a Promise Keeper!

Bible Verse: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son that whoever believes in him, will not perish, but have eternal life” –John 3:16

Prayer Activity– Let’s pray to God, our Promise Keeper.

David was a man after God’s heart. This week, cut a heart out of construction paper, let your little one color it and write your child’s name on the heart. Hang the heart in a place you will see it. Let it be a reminder to you as their parent to continue to pray that your child will also have a heart after God’s own heart.

Activity
– Paper plate crown

We read in our story this week that David was chosen to be King, and we know he was a very unlikely candidate. Reread the story with your little one and then make a crown with them out of a paper plate!

Simply fold a paper plate in half and make three cuts from the folded side (like a quesadilla), leaving about one inch from the edge of the plate. Open the plate, press each triangle up and you will end up with a crown! Let your child decorate it and together remember the story of David and how God always keeps his promises!

Memory Verse
– “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3:16

For God – point up

So loved – hug yourself

The world – make a circle with your harms above your head

He gave his one and only son – hold up a one with your finger

That whoever believes in him – point to your head

Will not perish – wag finger back and forth

But have eternal life – reach arms forward in a circular motion
