This Week in Kid City | September 28

This week we are memorizing Psalm 23:3 (CSB).

Practice combining verse 1 – 3 together this week! Some days your little one may not want to say it, and that is okay! If you lead out and repeat it in your home often, they will join you and probably surprise you at how much they are soaking in by hearing you repeat God’s true word!

Verse 1:

The Lord is my shepherd; I have what I need.

Verse 2:

He lets me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside quiet waters.

Verse 3:

He renews my life; he leads me along the right paths for his name’s sake.

PLAY
Find an activity that brings great joy to your child – an activity that restores them and fills them up! It can be playing outside, building a tower, or painting a picture! Let it be a reminder to us that God is the one who fully restores our life as we repent, trust, and follow him day after day.

PRAY
This week, pray over your children that they would trust their life to the Lord and follow Him. We see the sheep following the shepherd in Psalm 23:3. The sheep knows that good things come from following the shepherd. He trusts the shepherd and knows he will always be taken care of by the shepherd. In the same way, let’s pray that our children will trust and follow God and that God would reveal His goodness to them in His good and perfect timing!

PREACH
We do not have to walk this life alone. Instead, we can follow God’s lead and see His goodness, grace and love revealed to us! All we have to do is trust and follow Him!
